Hematologist

A hematologist deals with disorders related to the blood and the hematopoietic system, which includes the liver, spleen, bone marrow, and lymph nodes.
Deficiencies in certain blood components can cause, among others: coagulation disorders, anemia, or problems with the immune system.
Some blood disorders are the result of abnormal functioning of the organs of the blood-forming system or genetic diseases.
Hematology is based primarily on the analysis of blood. Often already from the basic blood count, where the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin concentration,
hematocrit and other parameters, e.g. platelets, ESR or CRP, the doctor may conclude that he is dealing with iron deficiency, inflammation, chronic infection or autoimmune diseases.
Most often, people who have done a general blood test and the results are abnormal come to the hematologist. At the beginning, the doctor conducts a detailed interview with the patient,
asks not only about past illnesses or diseases in the family, but also about lifestyle (diet, physical activity). It's best to write down all your symptoms in advance,
with which we are dealing, because even such seemingly trivial symptoms as irritability, drowsiness, brittle nails, hair loss or headaches,
they can be important information for the doctor that we suffer from, for example, one of the most common diseases in the field of hematology, i.e. anemia.
