Epilation

  • The beam emitted by the Fotona Spectro SP Nd-YAG laser has a destructive effect not only on the melanin found in the hair, but above all on the papilla and blood vessels nourishing the hair, concentrated around the hair follicles. This is why, after depilation, the unnourished hair dies permanently. The wavelength of Foton's neodymium-yag laser, which is 1064 nm and is the longest used so far, is also important for the effectiveness of laser depilation (epilation). Because it is able to reach a depth of 5-6 mm, it effectively destroys the hair follicles located at this level along with the structures that nourish them. The hair after the treatment becomes weaker, then dies and falls out after 2 to 3 weeks.

It should be remembered that laser devices are effective only in the permanent removal of hair in the active growth phase (anagen), i.e. when the hair is richly vascularized and melanocytes produce melanin. Laser hair removal treatments require a series of minimum 4-6 repetitions, because some hair is always in different phases, and the sleep periods have different durations.

    Indications for the procedure:

    • Unwanted and excessive hair
    • Ingrown hair

      Laser effects

During the first treatment with the Fotona laser, about 20%-30% of the hair is removed, and after a series of treatments up to 90%. The remaining hair is definitely lighter, finer and almost invisible and usually does not bother patients. Due to previous depilation treatments with wax, mechanical epilator, tweezers, etc., or in the case of a hormonal cause of excessive hair, it may be necessary to carry out more depilation treatments to obtain even better results, and then repeat them, e.g. once a year.

      Important after surgery

Redness and swelling may occur. These symptoms subside within a few hours or days
It is not recommended to use a hot bath or sauna 14 days after the procedure
After a day after the procedure, cosmetics can be used. It is worth, for example, to use soothing creams with allantoin.
During the series, we do not depilate hair using other methods (only shave)
After the procedure, the hair will not fall out right away, it will gradually come out of the hair follicles, which may give the impression that they are growing and that there are more of them.

      Contraindications

    • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
    • Active skin diseases
    • Active skin infection
    • Damaged skin
    • Waxing
    • Albinism
    • Tendency to discoloration and keloids
    • Use of steroids
    • Use of retinoids (6 months before the procedure)
    • Blood clotting disorders
    • Epilepsy
    • Cancer
    • Pacemaker
    • Hormonal diseases
    • Viral infections (HIV, hepatitis)
    • Active autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus, scleroderma)
    • Peels
    • Tan (too much accumulated melanin absorbs a large dose of energy, which can cause skin discoloration). Do not sunbathe (sun, solarium) for 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after the procedure
    • The use of photosensitizing herbs, e.g. marigold, chamomile, St. John's wort (discontinue 2-3 weeks before the procedure)
    • Photosensitizing drugs (retinoids, tetracyclines)
    • Consumption of alcohol a day before the procedure
    • Use of alcohol-based cosmetics

Security of the Fotona Spectro system

This laser has been equipped with a number of innovative solutions, such as EFC (pulse feedback control) - it is a system that provides an unprecedented degree of control over the energy of the laser beam pulse. Thanks to each calibration of the device, the laser always delivers a beam with strictly defined parameters, which increases the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Another innovative feature of Fotona Spectro SP lasers is the VSP system (variable square pulse - a solution protected by a patent) that allows the generation of a pulse with given parameters with a negligibly short rise and fall time of the pulse energy. Thanks to this, the efficiency of the laser beam increases, and at the same time the effectiveness and speed of treatment is improved compared to other devices.
